I am Childbirth Educator trained by Bastyr University, and have over a years experience teaching community prenatal classes.
Private childbirth education is a fantastic option for people who have a busy schedule, who are wanting to work toward a specific birth outcome, or who are also juggling siblings and childcare.
In private childbirth education, I go over the basics of preparing for labor and what to expect, comfort measures, positions to assist in labor, postpartum care, and breastfeeding initiation. I am open to working through specific concerns, and planning how to manage those in labor.
Individualized Childbirth Education can be done in one longer day, or two shorter days.
*There is a reduced rate for current doula clients.
What people are saying:
“As someone who went into this feeling like they knew nothing and were completely overwhelmed, this class helped to calm a lot of my nerves, made me feel like I wasn’t alone, and helped to teach me a lot of things that I didn’t even think about yet. I highly recommend to anyone having their first or their third , there is so much information here that if helped me feel much more prepared.”

As your birth doula we meet for an initial interview to make sure that we all gel together, and that I am a good fit for what you are envisioning for your birth. We then set up two prenatal appointments to go over everything from labor positions, expectations, and postpartum preparedness. We also use this time to work on your birth preferences/plan.
I go on call at 38 weeks, and I join you for labor when you feel ready for another set of hands. We work together to help you achieve the birth you envision. I stay postpartum until you are settled, and I come for a postpartum visit around day five to see how everyone is doing and to check out your beautiful new baby. I am also able to assist my clients with basic latch and breastfeeding questions. I am always available via phone, and I check back in in person around six weeks postpartum.
If finances are a concern, please reach out to discuss payment plans.
HSA accounts can be used to pay for doula fees with a letter from your provider saying that a doula is medically necessary.
